St Mark's hopes to  apply for a third year of an Equality and Diversity funding which can provide women returners to teaching and potential women leaders at all levels with 4 free hours of coaching to help them achieve their goals. Equality and Diversity Grant Coaching Opportunity for Potential Women Leaders

As part of an Equality and Diversity Grant we are able to offer potential Women Leaders, both secondary and primary 4 free hours of bespoke coaching from January through to July, 2021. We welcome new applicants, and coachees from last year, who wish to further embed their coaching in 2020-21. The project last year received evaluations that were 100% positive.

First of all, a bit about the nature of coaching for those who may not have much experience of it:

Working 1-1 with a professional coach provides leaders with a unique opportunity to make progress towards achieving their goals through developing their awareness and understanding of what they want to achieve and why and by tackling the internal and external barriers which are standing in the way of progress. The coach who will work with you through this programme will bring a wealth of experience and a strong sense of curiosity to their work with you and together you will create a collaborative process of learning and action.  Your coach won’t tell you what to do, but instead they will help you to uncover what you already know – knowledge which may be hidden from your conscious awareness.  Your coach will help you to harness your inner resources and to find the path that is right for you - they will adapt their approaches based on your feedback and on the results you are achieving. “

The coaching is available for 25 women who are hoping to become either: a middle leader; a key stage leader; a senior leader; a deputy head teacher; an assistant head teacher; a head of school; a head teacher; or an executive head teacher.

The funding will cover the four hours of coaching with experienced and fully qualified coaches, Kit Messenger and Alison Rendle, which will be spread over the year, but will not pay for supply cover.

Once applications have been received, and the 25 candidates for this opportunity selected, we will try to base the coaching in places that will be accessible to those taking part, thus avoiding long periods out of school.

If you are interested in this exciting offer please complete the application form which can be found on the VSB or request one from crivers@st-marks.e-sussex.sch.uk. You can also download a copy here
