November 2023 - Singing
Our Year 5 and 6 children were selected to sing at the opening of Marks & Spencer, Maresfield. The children did a wonderful job, conducted by Ms Harris. They also got to meet some a couple of VIPs!
October 2023 - Football
Year 3/4 team travelled to Manor to battle against 7 other local primary schools. The team did immensely well without any training sessions and soon got in the flow of things despite losing the first game, they finished third in their group. We drew the playoff 0-0 meaning we finished joint 5th. Well done to all the team with shoutouts to Seb M who scored a hattrick in one of the group games and to Ethan who claimed player of the tournament.
October 2023 - Football
Our Year 5/6 girls' football team put in an amazing performance at the recent local schools' tournament. Nine teams participated - the highest number in a girls' tournament to date!
St Mark's came joint 3rd overall - Well done girls!!
October 2023 - Cross Country
Well done to our Cross Country team for battling with 9 other schools to compete in the Uckfield schools Year 5 and 6 Cross Country competition. The children pushed themselves so well around a grueling course! Some of our children qualified to represent Uckfield at the next stage of the competition; well done to Freya, Lottie, Iris A, FInlay, Max and Archie!
April 2023 - Community Award
We had a vist from the High Sheriff of Sussex who toured our school and spoke to the children. Jane King has recently ended her tenure as the High Sheriff and was able to give some community awards. We were delighted when she showed up to our singing assembly to present us with an award in recognition of great and valuable services to the community
January 2023 - St Mark’s scoop first place at this year’s swimming gala!
Out of ten teams, St Mark's came first. We are so incredibly proud of the children. Feedback from parents and staff has shown that not only are they talented, but also kind, respectful and gracious in their winning. What great representatives for St Mark’s!
January 2023 - Our netball team came third
Our Netball Team came third in the KS2 tournament which is held at Uckfield College. A fantastic acheivement - well done to all those who took part.
November 2022 - VSA Logo Competition
St Mark’s took part in the Design a Logo competition for the Village Schools Alliance (VSA.) One of our designs was chosen as the winner and will appear on all future VSA correspondence and the website - huge congratulations Freya for creating such a beautiful logo!
September 2022 - Bikeability
Year 6 took part in Bikeability, learning the skills required to cycle on our roads. The children have grown enormously in confidence. The instructor's feedback was that the children were all very enthusiastic and keen to learn.
September 2022 - Football Tournament
Our Year 5 and 6 football team represented us incredibly well at the football tournament this week. They placed third overall.
October 2022 - ROAR Winners
We competed with 8 other school teams and presented our incredible invention, 'Eco Bins.' The Judges loved our team's idea of bins which have attached litter pickers and generate rewards for litter picking. Thank you to the incredible Uckfield & District Lions Club for running this event for all pupils.
