Ofsted Report

We are more than delighted that our school has been judged by Ofsted to be good in all areas.

We would like to thank our incredible staff and governors for all their hard work and skill and we would like to thank all of you for your support and encouragement.

Here are some of the main findings of the report. To see the full report please click here

  • School ethos: Pupils thrive in a nurturing, family-like environment where they feel safe, cared for, and valued.

  • Curriculum: Broad, ambitious, and logically sequenced from Reception to Year 6, helping pupils build knowledge over time.

  • Teaching: Teachers have strong subject knowledge and deliver lessons clearly, enabling pupils to enjoy learning and make cross-curricular links.

  • SEND provision: Pupils with SEND are well supported, usually learn alongside peers, and achieve well.

  • Reading: Phonics starts in Reception; pupils become fluent readers by Year 2. Books are well matched, and reading and writing are strongly linked, fostering a love of literature.

  • Behaviour and community: Pupils behave well, show responsibility, and take on leadership roles. Strong community links and events enhance their experience.

  • Personal development: Wide enrichment opportunities (e.g., tennis and film club) support pupils’ interests. Respect for diversity is actively promoted.

  • Attendance: Clear routines and strong partnerships with parents ensure good attendance and positive behaviour across the school.

  • Leadership: Leaders and governors have an accurate understanding of the school, provide effective support, and maintain high staff morale.

  • Safeguarding: Arrangements are effective, with a strong culture of safeguarding.

Ways forward for the school are:

  • The school does not always check what pupils have learned and remembered across the wider curriculum. This means that teachers cannot identify and address gaps in pupils’ knowledge as successfully as they do in English and mathematics. The school should ensure that subject leaders evaluate the impact of the revised curriculum in helping pupils to know more and remember more over time.

SIAMS Inspection

SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school's Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish. Church schools will employ a variety of strategies and styles appropriate to, and reflective of, their particular context in order to be distinctively and effectively Christian in their character and ethos. SIAMS inspectors therefore do not look for a set template of what a Church school should be like, but rather take the particular context of the school into account and base their evaluation on the outcomes rather than the process.
